Up to $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

Shift: Full -Time (40 hrs. M-F ) Days, Evenings, Flexible hours, Flexible shift, On call rotational and weekend coverage may be required.

Work Location: University of Miami Hospital - Imaging Services

  • Operates MRI equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.

  • Sets up imaging area and selects appropriate coil based on information from exam triage form, attached referring physician order, and patient’s screening form.

  • Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specific areas of the body.

  • Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.

  • Follows safety procedures by assessing the patient physically and reviewing applicable notes and forms in patient’s file.

  • Performs daily quality assurance measurements on MRI equipment.

  • Reports and documents any equipment issues to the appropriate senior staff.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT):

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
