Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. This role involves providing essential patient care assistance to support the doctor's daily activities, such as greeting patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination and procedures.

  • Assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes.

  • Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.

  • Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns.

  • Message and care provided in the electronic medical record for physician review.

  • Complete and accurate message taking, route messages to the appropriate area, order and referral entry, set up cases in EMR system plus basic registration and update demographics.

  • Accurately document medical information in the patient records.

  • Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review.

  • Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician/nurse practitioner.

  • Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as directed by physician/nurse practitioner.

  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.

  • Perform basic computer skills in using electronic health records proficiently while conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care.

  • Process orders appropriately and accurately.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with vital sign documentation.

  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records (EHR).

  • Medical assisting skills.

  • Blood pressure measurement.

  • Phlebotomy.

  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with ECW (Eclinical Works).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Work Environment

This position operates in a busy urgent care setting with 50-100 patients a day. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. The role offers room to grow within the company and the opportunity for overtime within different specialties.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
