Job Title: Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join our team. This role is centered on design engineering within a consulting firm environment, working primarily on small to mid-sized projects for heavy industrial clients. The position will commence with intensive design work and gradually advance into engineering and project management responsibilities. The focus will be on retrofit projects within existing industrial facilities.

Hard Skills

• Perform civil and/or structural design

• Develop estimates, schedules, material lists, design concepts, and design drawings

• Maintain project files and documentation using document control databases

• Perform field work and technical research

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all deliverable products and services

• Track and comply with scopes, schedules, and budgets

• Perform temporary field support activities for engineering support during construction

• Assist with cost and material estimates and preliminary design studies

• Check the accuracy and quality of drawings

Soft Skills

• Direct interface with clients

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Midlothian, Virginia.

Work Environment

The team includes 1 Department Manager (PE), 1 Senior Engineer (PE), 2 Engineers (both PEs), and 1 Senior Structural Designer. This is the smallest team, yet collaborates closely with the mechanical, process, and electrical teams. The position is Monday to Friday, based in-office located in Midlothian, VA!
