Position Overview:
Toms Auto Parts is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Warehouse Team Lead with a background in automotive parts to join our team. This role involves managing the organization, storage, and distribution of automotive products within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of automotive parts and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Handling and Sorting:
- Receive, inspect, and sort incoming automotive parts and materials.
- Ensure accurate labeling and storage of products in designated warehouse areas.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery or pickup, following specific instructions and ensuring accuracy.
- Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Utilize inventory management software to log and track products.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with inventory to the warehouse manager.
- Safety and Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to company safety standards and protocols.
- Operate warehouse vehicles and equipment, including forklifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on warehouse equipment.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete and maintain accurate logs and records of inventory movements.
Prepare and process shipping and receiving documents.
Collaborate with the purchasing and logistics teams to coordinate deliveries and shipments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in a warehouse environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and components.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and warehouse management systems.
- Valid forklift operator certification is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Capable of performing tasks that involve bending, lifting, and moving heavy items.
