Minimum Qualifications:

2 years of professional direct experience in an administrative support position. An assocoates’ degree from an accredited college or university and one year of administrative experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience.

Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

One or more years of working in the State of Florida’s People First system

One or more years of experience working with People First Talent Management

One or more years of experience working with Bank of America Works program

One or more years of experience working with Statewide Travel Management System

Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory Level 1 background check at no cost to the candidate.

Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Not eligible for Telework. Office hours and days are flexible to fulfill required 20 hours of work per week.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a motivated individual to be the Administrative Assistant for the Garcon Point Aquatic Research Center in Milton, FL. The research center currently has 10 full-time and OPS staff. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily clerical operations including: monitoring budgets, establishing and overseeing service contracts, developing maintenance schedules, coordinating necessary repair for facilities and vehicles, answering phones and emails, maintaining general office supplies, processing mail, and other tasks necessary for safe and efficient office operations. This position acts as a finance liaison to staff, ensuring all state purchasing card (P-card) purchases adhere to FWC rules and policies, requiring a high degree of judgement, business management, and team building skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers in a team environment.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to operate a computer with Windows operating system.

Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to complete assigned tasks on, or before, deadlines.

Ability to conduct administrative functions associated with project management, including purchasing and detailed record keeping.
