REXNORD INDUSTRIES LLC Buyer Planner in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Buyer I is responsible for the ownership of assigned product categories to ensure supply is on time to meet our production and customer required date(s), at the best value and meeting the specified quality level. Project management will be expected to lead change and reduction of tactical work effort and move forward to a more project-based effort bringing continuous improvement to the operation. Applying a strong foundational business acumen with the highest sense of urgency is required. This role will be based at the Canal Street - Renew facility in Milwaukee, WI. * Manage purchases with domestic and Low-Cost Region (LCR) supply base to support customer demand and safety stock levels. * Evaluate vendor quotations to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service across multiple global locations. * Identify and execute inventory optimization initiatives and ensure appropriate levels and accuracy of inventory planning. This includes review and calculation of forecasts, safety stocks, Kanban quantities, order quantities, etc. * Expedite and defer goods as required. * Identify process gaps that may delay manufacturing or hinder delivery. Increase efficiency and support OTD and inventory initiatives. * Act as liaison between customer care, sales, production, engineering, and purchasing.. * Collaborate across functions to improve communication and coordination of supply plan. * Lead projects and manage cross-functional teams to achieve the desired outcome of a detailed action plan. * Drive the supplier approval and management process by identifying and maintaining direct contact with suppliers. * Responsible for supplier relationship management. Works with suppliers to establish performance goals with respect to continuity of supply, continuous improvement of cost, quality, and delivery. Monitor supplier\'s performance to agreed-upon service level and OTD objectives. Qualifications: * Bachelor\'s Degree, preferably in Operations, Supply Chain or Engineering * 1-3 years of buying or scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment preferred. * Demonstrated MRP experience using an integrated ERP system; purchasing transaction knowledge in SAP strongly desired. * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. * Strong skillset in buy/resell product categories. * APICS certification preferred. * Previous manufacturing experience in a high mix / low volume business desired. * Customer focused. * Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening skills to affect positive outcomes. * Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with proven ability to effectively interface with all levels of workers, from the shop floor to management.
