The Department of Art & Design has 14 full-time faculty members and 17 full-time teaching academic staff members and offers BA, BFA , MA, and MFA degrees in the areas of Ceramics, Community Arts, Design & Visual Communication, Digital Fabrication & Design, Digital Studio Practice, Fibers, Jewelry/Metalsmithing, Painting/Drawing, Photography, Print/Narrative Forms, and Sculpture, and BFA and MS degrees in Art Education. Job Summary

The Department of Art and Design is seeking Associate Lecturers/Lecturers to teach in upcoming terms, beginning in Fall 2019. The 15 week courses could include the areas of Art Education, Ceramics, Community Arts, Design & Visual Communication, Digital Fabrication & Design, Digital Studio Practice, Fibers, Jewelry/Metalsmithing, Painting/Drawing, Photography, Print/Narrative Forms, Sculpture, Writing and Critical Thinking, and Foundations/First-Year Program/General.

The responsibilities will vary by program; however, general responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: teaching courses within these programs and working collaboratively with area faculty to maintain a vital curriculum; foster a sense of community and students individual development; and actively participate in area activities.

Teaching load and specific courses will vary based on program needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess:

  • A terminal degree appropriate to their field OR a Bachelor degree with commensurate professional experience (degree granted by date of hire)

Note: To be considered for instruction in Art Education, candidates must also possess a teaching license

Preferred Qualifications

Highly qualified candidates may also possess:

  • Master of Fine Art ( MFA ) degree

  • Teaching Experience

  • Professional Experience in areas of expertise

Further qualifications may be reviewed based on specific instructional needs for each upcoming term.
