About the role: Processing customer payments and exceptions in a timely and accurate manner to customer accounts. System File management About the team: The Remittance Processing team provides lockbox solutions that scan, import, index, and archive billions of text-based documents including checks, payment remittances, returns, and statements every day for financial institutions. Using daily online check processing operations and imaging systems, our systems recognize and capture the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) on the checks for correct routing and posting. What you will be doing: Prepares customer payments for processing. Coordinates set-up and maintenance activities for the remittance processor and related equipment. Performs research and adjustment activities. Processes exception items. Maintains inventory of remittance processing supplies. Prepares outgoing collection notices for negotiable instruments, e.g., bonds, food stamps, and foreign items. Other related duties are assigned as needed.
