FTE: 1.000000 Shift: Shift 1 Job Summary: In the role of a clinical practitioner, preceptor, and member of the health care team, the nurse coordinator develops and leads nursing care delivery designed to improve patient care for a specialized area. Functions as a clinician more than 60% of the time, providing specialized care to patients in the assigned area. This position assists with the coordination of staffing assignments, patient flow, and daily operations. Through coordination of quality improvement initiatives and education, this position also assists department leaders in making decisions related to nursing care for their identified areas of expertise. The Nurse Coordinator job description has been adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 3rd Edition (2015). Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing practice experience in a related setting/specialty is required. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing is required or completion of Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing within six months of hire is required. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Highly organized with the ability to manage time and prioritize work flow. Ability to be self-directed and work autonomously. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills. Possess a high degree of positive energy and the ability to rapidly initiate positive relationships with others to develop trust. Demonstrated creative solution-based problem solving, critical thinking skills, and clinical judgment. Willingness to accept and adapt to change in a fast-paced and complex work environment. Possess effective conflict management and motivational interviewing skills. Keyboard skills and experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Microsoft Office required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
