The Senior Counsel, Patient Care Solutions (PCS) will directly support one or more business lines within GE Healthcare’s PCS business – a multi-billion-dollar global leader in healthcare technology. You will be embedded in the business and join a team of diverse, passionate individuals dedicated to bringing high valued solutions (device, digital, services, consumables) designed to ease the way, clinically and operationally, for patients, care teams and health systems. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to business leadership as a corporate generalist with strong business acumen, sound judgment, and a pragmatic, risk-based approach that drives business results.

  • Drive the structure and strategy of transactions and execute related legal work, including drafting and negotiating contracts, performing due diligence, and collaborating with and coordinating advice from legal subject-matter experts.

  • Direct, oversee, and execute complex transactions, including digital technology licensing, acquisition, development, and distribution deals.

  • Advise on legal issues applicable to global regulated medical device companies, including antitrust and unfair competition laws, anti-bribery and corruption laws, medical device regulations, and data privacy laws.

  • Support litigation and internal investigations.

  • Provide trainings and present on various matters.

  • Manage outside counsel and, as assigned, supervise and manage members of legal team.

Required Qualifications:

  • JD (or global equivalent) with active bar membership.

  • 7+ years of substantial business/healthcare law experience at a large law firm or in-house legal department.

  • Experience in or working with clients in the healthcare industry and advising on legal issues applicable to medical device companies, including FDA regulations and the Anti-Kickback Statute.

  • Proven results advising on the development of digital healthcare tools and applications and cloud-based applications.

  • Competency and experience advising on technology and software-based transactions, such as development agreements and licensing, mergers and acquisition deals, with particular emphasis on data-rights and privacy issues.

  • Executive presence, outstanding interpersonal skills, and high emotional intelligence.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills that simplify complexity and concisely convey advice to business teams.

  • Organized and prioritized approach to work with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Commitment to fostering a healthy business culture.
