Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dialysis Machine Technician-Full Time, Day-Dialysis, Mineola. In this role, the successful candidate The Dialysis Machine Technician is responsible for overseeing the overall operational condition, maintenance and repair of all dialysis specific machinery to ensure patient safety and the safety of all staff operating such equipment for their assigned clinics.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the patient care or operational needs of the clinic.
    • Repair, calibrate, test, clean and disinfect dialysis machines according to protocol.
    • Collect water samples for AAMI analysis testing according to protocol as needed.
    • Perform electrical safety on dialysis machines and related equipment.
    • Be familiar with instruction manuals and operation for equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
    • Maintain established preventative maintenance programs and required support documentation.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records for the facility's equipment.
    • Have knowledge of the function and safe operation of water treatment equipment and related mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Be aware of all contracts and contacts necessary for the emergency repair of the clinic's equipment and mechanical systems.
    • Present technical summaries in QAPI meetings.
    • Respond effectively to inquiries or concerns.
    • Purchases and retain an inventory of service parts.
    • Assists in planning and installing Dialysis equipment to assure safe and effective operation.
    • Transports equipment as needed with supervisor consent.
    • Collaborates with facility staff to ensure all regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
    • Completes all technical training programs required.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High school diploma or equivalent. Dialysis technician certification Certified Hemodialysis Bio-Medical Technician (CHBT) or obtain within 2 years. Valid driver' license in applicable state. License must be maintained as current, without restrictions and good driving record. Previous 3 years of dialysis experience or working with dialysis equipment. Confirmation of ability to distinguish all primary colors. Ability to communicate and interface effectively with others. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently as well as with others to plan and organize work assignment. Manual dexterity required - ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move large/bulky equipment. Required Licenses: Hemodialysis Bio-Medical Tech, Certified Hemodialysis Tech, Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate Degree in electronics / biomedical technology, or equivalent.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $74,450.26 - $85,989.91 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
