Ameriprise Financial Department Manager (R23_0000001757) in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Ameriprise Financial has an exciting opportunity for a Department Manager to support our General Counsel's Organization (GCO)! This person will be an integral part of the team, supporting the VP of Planning and Administration and senior leaders by providing leadership/coordination of organization staff changes and reporting, cross organizational initiatives, coordination of town halls, communications, and presentations along with other special projects. You may often represent the VP, Planning & Administration in personal interactions with others. Key Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, and administer department programs and ensure delivery of key tasks to support organizational effectiveness. Responsibilities may often include organizational metrics, tracking and reporting, and improvement in employee satisfaction. Coordination with GCO diversity and inclusion committee and employee engagement committee. Support coordination of GCO Town Halls. Often partner with business units and other staff groups to accomplish responsibilities. Prepare presentations and communications for senior leaders. May also be accountable for developing draft materials for ELT-level and other meetings attended by the General Counsel. Assist with organizational initiatives and GCO operations such as process improvement projects, organizational restructuring, or other initiatives that provide assistance to the senior leaders. May be expected to oversee project work or arrange business events for senior leaders. May be responsible for developing, coaching and guiding other support staff members. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent 5+ years of experience Ability to thrive in an environment with undefined processes, tight deadlines, and frequently changing priorities. Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across diverse units / staff functions. Strong communication/influencing skills to interact with all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze data/information and form conclusions. Effective planning and coordination skills; proven ability to create timelines and execute accordingly. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills. Preferred Qualifications: Project management experience preferred.
