Robert Half Entry-level Accounts Receivable Clerk in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our client's dynamic finance team. This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to start their careers in accounting and finance. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Prepare, verify, and process customer invoices promptly.

  • Payment Posting: Accurately post payments to customer accounts, ensuring proper application of funds.

  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable balances and resolve discrepancies by investigating documentation and liaising with customers.

  • Collections: Communicate with customers via phone, email, and mail to assist in collecting outstanding accounts receivable.

  • Reporting: Generate and distribute regular accounts receivable aging reports and other financial statements as required.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries and resolving billing issues.

  • Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions in the accounting system.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations and standards.

  • Support: Assist with month-end closing processes and other accounting projects as needed.

    Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Experience: Internship or coursework in accounting/finance is preferred but not required.

  • Other: Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
