This position will assist the Research Computing Finance Director with accounting administration and financial reporting responsibilities. This position will be responsible for mainly non-sponsored fund management for Research Computing. Responsibilities 75% Financial Management - Administer and reconcile all purchasing and accounts payable activities - 45% Requisitions, including capital equipment and software Contracts for Professional Services Pcard activity Event expenses/reimbursements - Produce non-sponsored financial reports for all assigned units and groups - 20% Data Science Initiative International Institute for Biosensing Sustainable Geocommunities GEMS Systems Administration Others as assigned - Financial administration of Research Computing's seed grant programs - 10% 15% Financial administration of Internal Sales Organizations and External Sales Organizations Manage invoicing and reconciliation of sales transactions Administer cost calculations and transfers against actual sales Assist Finance Director with annual rates review 10% Other Responsibilities as Assigned Attend applicable training to stay current with ongoing policy and system updates and for professional development Assist Finance Director with ad-hoc reporting or other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS with at least 2 years of professional accounting work experience or a combination of education & general accounting experience to equal at least 6 years Must have Intermediate level knowledge of spreadsheets and basic knowledge of other MS/Google suite programs Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, and prioritize tasks Preferred Qualifications BA/BS in Accounting or Finance Experience with PeopleSoft Enterprise Systems including EFS and HRMS Experience with accounting and reconciliation for complex, diverse units Ability to communicate financial data to non-financial people Familiar with UMN finance policies About the Department Research Computing helps to enable and accelerate compute, data, and spatial research at the University of Minnesota. As a unit of the Research and Innovation Office, Research Computing is the administrative organization that oversees the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute, U-Spatial, and the Data Science Initiative.
