Position Overview

Our Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering team is expanding and seeking several Leads for Structural design to guide teams and projects from concept to final delivery for North America projects. In this role you can expect to support Feasibility studies, PRE-FEED, and FEED projects as well as design build and EPC projects that spans across Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Industrial Power, Renewables, Chemical processing, Food and Beverage Processing, Mining, Manufacturing and Advanced Technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for development and oversight of the project from concept through planning and execution. It involves definition of scope, assigning, monitoring, and reporting on progress of tasks, training and mentoring of other designers, and working with department management to continually improve processes and procedures.

Our rapidly growing Industrial Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC (Engineer Procure Construct) and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities.

Location

These positions can be based out of Lenexa, KS, Lone Tree Colorado, or Minneapolis Minnesota. We offer relocation assistance to those areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Structural Designers to develop and deliver drawings and 3D models for complex industrial and water related projects. Oversee project and represent the structural design discipline for your project as you coordinate with other design group team members to review and exchange project information necessary for design and development.

  • Providing training, mentoring and development to designers on your team and within the department in design and modeling techniques. Work with Engineers to obtain criteria to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures.

  • Leverages Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, sections details, and reports.

  • Provide insight into how to best use the tool and checks other designers’ work.

  • Assist the Design Manager in the development of department standards and tools for design.

  • Mentors other team members in design and modeling techniques

Qualifications

  • Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design and minimum of 15+ years of structural design experience using Revit; or high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 20+ years of structural design experience using Revit.

  • Experience working on DB, and EPC projects is required.

  • Advanced skills in BIM 3D modeling and REVIT.

  • Displays leadership and confidence to provide mentoring, coaching and right time feedback to more junior designers.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with other team members and disciplines both verbally and in written form.

  • Experience with MS Office Suite is required.

Base Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
