UMPhysicians Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Transplant Nephrology in Minneapolis, Minnesota

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our Transplant Nephrology practice in Minneapolis, MN. In This Role, You Will: Become a member of a collaborative and team based service with several transplant nephrologists and 2 advance practice providers. We offer an exciting and complex patient mix of transplant patients where you will have the chance to create a difference. Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to patients within a multidisciplinary framework caring for pre and post kidney and pancreas transplant patients. Specialize in Transplant Nephrology and work primarily in an outpatient setting at the in Minneapolis (80-90%) and at the Medical Center (10-20%). Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs. Practice independently and collaborate with physicians (as needed), and make appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment. See patient in 4 hour appointment blocks with 30 minute appointments times, averaging 16 patients per day. Cross trained and will help out the service as needed. Be provided with educational opportunities in an academic setting. Schedule: 1.0FTE (40 hours/week) (Will consider candidates seeking .8 or .9 FTE) Monday - Friday, day hours Weekend Call is required, approximately 8 weekends/year and shared equally among the team. Will receive equivalent time off the following week after working a weekend. No night call. We're Looking for a PA or NP Who Is: A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program. Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP. Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's). Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges. What Could Set You Apart? Experience as a NP or PA in an advanced specialty working in a direct patient care role that uses advanced practice skills. Experience in nephrology and/or transplant as a nurse, NP or PA.
