General Job Statement: Under the supervision of the Food Shelf Supervisor, the Food Shelf Driver operates company vehicles to pick-up and deliver food donations from assigned donors and vendors for delivery to the Food Shelf and/or other authorized locations. The Food Shelf Driver will follow all DOT and safety rules and regulations as well as monitor the physical and mechanical condition of all company vehicles. This position will also assist with receiving and recording donations, unloading incoming and outgoing inventory, and tracking inventory levels. The Food Shelf Driver may be the main or only contact that donors have with NorthPoint so strong customer service skills are a priority. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, required. Valid MN Driver's license and the ability to pass NorthPoint, Inc.'s driving requirements, required. Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, required. Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Experience working in a team-oriented environment, including working with volunteers. Demonstrated ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic, cultural backgrounds, ages and economic circumstances. Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and computer tracking database. Work Environment: Work is performed in a standard food shelf environment with regular exposure to outside weather. Drives in traffic and throughout community. Work involves lifting a minimum of 50 lbs on a regular basis, standing, stooping, lifting and pushing six to seven hours daily, requires hand-eye coordination in the use of equipment, organizing and shelving food items.
