UMPhysicians Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Neurology) in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Join us on a mission to advance medicine. We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the MHealth Fairview Neurology team. In this role, you will work with two teams providing comprehensive neurological care. This is a hybrid inpatient/outpatient role and will practice primarily on the UMMC West Bank campus. Practice Details: Evaluate and treat adult neurological patients in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings In a very autonomous role you will care for hospitalized patients with acute and chronic neurologic conditions by performing hospital consults, daily rounding and discharge planning Respond to urgent or emergent neurological issues to evaluate and triage next steps (This does not include assessment of stroke patients) Potential to perform minor procedures Join a multidisciplinary team including physician specialists, pharmacists, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, clinic and administrative support staff Ongoing collaboration with all members of our care team, patients and families Leadership within the multi-professional clinic caring for this patient population. Future potential to participatein clinical research. Partner with clinic and hospital teams to improve the quality of care and patient satisfaction. Develop strategies to decrease length of stay and readmission rates. Practice Details: Full time 40 hours per week Monday - Friday No current weekend or holiday requirement with potential of minimal weekend coverage in the distant future May have some cross coverage at the UMMC University campus location What We offer: We're proud to offer competitive compensation and a market-leading benefits package to support our employees and their families. Position Qualifications: A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Have a current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through ANA / AANC or eligible for ANA/AANC national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges. Preferred Qualifications: 3 years as an advanced practice provider experience in a neurologic care setting is preferred. New graduates with an interest in neurology are encouraged to apply.
