The successful candidate will interact with, lead, and assist graduate and undergraduate students in the research group. 90% Research Conduct research related to specific externally funded projects, including collecting and analyzing data, troubleshooting challenges, and assisting graduate and undergraduate students on the project, as needed. Individually and collaboratively write reports for sponsors and papers to submit to refereed journals. Assist the PI in writing and preparing grant proposals, as needed. 10% Lab Citizen Attend lab meetings with the entire research group and one-on-one meetings with Professor Mortazavi, as required. Attend relevant lectures and training sessions. Maintain the highest safety standards that adhere to University policy. Assist other lab/community members, as needed. Qualifications Required Qualifications PhD in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related field Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in modeling and analytical skills using OpenSees and Abaqus. Experience in large-scale testing. Previous design experience in North America is considered an asset. Proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably Matlab or Python, is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality publications. A desire to help lead an integrative and motivated group of young scientists. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
