BAE Systems Program Manager III - Global Fleet Support in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Description

BAE Systems is hiring a Program Manager III who will report to the Director, Launching Systems Programs & Global Fleet Support with responsibility for managing all aspects of the Navy Fleet Support business. The Program Manager will work across functional lines to manage multiple people and projects while achieving financial objectives and organizational initiatives. The Program Manager will develop and maintain pertinent program documentation and metrics for communication of program performance.

  • The position can be in San Diego, CA; Norfolk, VA; Jacksonville, FL; or Minneapolis, MN.

  • There will be 25% of travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or participate in the creation of new business strategies and in the development of strategic and financial plans.

  • Accountable for the Product Line Management for program execution, profitability, timeliness, and overall success.

  • Make decisions that are cost effective to the company and ensure assigned projects meet financial commitments for orders, sales, profit, and cash flow.

  • Act as primary point of contact between BAE Systems and the customer program office, suppliers, and key customer stakeholders.

  • Represent BAE Systems and the Fleet Support organization at customer and industry events.

  • Responsible for maintaining quality assurance objectives to include ISO 9001 certification, fiscal year NAVSEA Standard Items, and NAVSEA Technical Specifications 9090-310H.

  • Responsible for Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) at the pier-side facilities.

  • Develop job safety, procedural, and technical training programs for fleet support personnel.

  • Ensures training and skill requirements are met.

  • Responsible for safety of personnel on assignment at remote locations.

  • Travel Percentage - 25%.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of work experience or equivalent experience

  • Experience in new business capture

  • Experience in Navy, Maritime, or similar industries

  • Ability to develop program/project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources

  • Ability to initiate, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects/tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written at all levels within the company and within the customer community

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with pier-side customers

  • Very strong presentation and organizational skills

  • Highly adaptable with a high degree of initiative

  • Customer focus and relationship building skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Master s Degree in Business Management or Administration

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Familiarity with fleet support contracting requirements

  • Familiarity and relationships with Navy field service customer base

  • Familiarity with shipyard work packages to include work items and NAVSEA Standard Items

  • Strong focus on safety, health, and environmental aspects of field service business

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
