Location Minneapolis Central Library Job Type Volunteer Job Number 24LIBvolJR001 Department Library Opening Date 01/25/2024 Description The Best Buy Teen Tech Center at Minneapolis Central Library is looking for adult mentors to work with youth ages 12 - 19. Location and Hours: Minneapolis Central Library is located downtown at 300 Nicollet Mall Minneapolis, MN 55401. Prospective mentors need to be able to commit to a 6-month time period, once a week for two hours per session. Volunteers are needed Monday - Thursday 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. About the volunteer position type: This is an advertisement for an unpaid, volunteer position. Youth (ages 12 - 19) work with adult mentors to explore their own ideas, develop new skills and build confidence in themselves through using technology. The Best Buy Teen Tech Center is youth-centered, intertest-driven and project-based with the emphasis on learning more than teaching. Teens are encouraged to become producers rather than just consumers of media, and learn through tinkering, playing and designing.
