As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Viavi, you will be working to ensure each product release meets high quality standards along with customer needs. Our products run on Linux and Windows and are deployed in a wide variety of environments from bare metal to cloud SaaS and everything in between. We operate ina fast paced, agile, team-oriented environment where we expect you to make meaningful contributions on day one.Duties/Responsibilities:Ensure quality software releases that are stable, maintain performance requirements, and are free of major issuesTesting of Windows thick client applications as well as web-based applications running in both Windows and LinuxBe the voice of the customer throughout the development cycleExecute the test strategy containing both manual and automated test suitesChallenge your skillset by learning scripting to assist in automated test efforts when applicableMonitor the CI/CD process and ensure it is continually functioning and meeting the evolving needs of the teams and businessParticipate in a team culture that encourages productivity, engagement, and product ownershipLog bugs and provide input for bug triage using Atlassian JiraContinue to build upon the overall test strategy by adding new test suites using Xray for JiraMentor and grow your peers, challenge 'the norm', and bring fresh ideas to the test process with an eye towards efficiencPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:BasicQualifications:3-5+ years of relevant software QA experienceDemonstrated competence working in a fast-paced agile processwith cross-functional project teamsA proven ability to initiate and drive forward software quality in an Agile environmentDetail oriented, reliable, and have the ability to work both in a team environment and alone with minimal supervisionExperience with all phases of software testing (Functional, Performance, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, and Release Management)Experience testing web-based client-server systemsExperience testing desktop-based services and systems in Microsoft windowsAbility to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work effectively in a professional manner with technology staff and all levels of managementPreferredQualifications:Knowledgeof Network Performance Management and Diagnostics Products (NPMD)Knowledge of distributed software systemsFamiliarity with networking and TCP/IPExperience with layer 7 protocols and their inner workings (3-pane decodes), request/response sequences, etcNetwork architectures and what impacts their performanceProficiency in Atlassian Jira, XRay, Bamboo, and BitBucket toolsScripting skills(python, bash, batch, powershell, VB, etc)Experience with system-level optimization as well as VM management and deploymentIf you have what it takes to push boundaries and seize opportunities, apply to join our team today.VIAVI Solutions is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer minorities/females/veterans/persons with disabilities.Equal Oppo tunity Employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
