SFS Group USA, Inc-Division Riveting is a leading producer of blind rivet fastening systems with global production facilities and marketing operations. Product range includes a comprehensive line of standard and engineered blind rivets, blind rivet nuts and the specialized tools to install them.
Position: Entry Level Manufacturing Engineer
Objective:
Responsible for design and ongoing design maintenance of assigned product line(s).
Responsible for the development and successful launch of new blind fastener products and the enhancement of existing product thru the application of engineering and metallurgical principles.
Responsible for ensuring machines are running to meet production goals by assisting operators in troubleshooting setups, tooling issues, and machine issues.
Responsible for the process and tooling design of assigned product line(s).
Principle Duties:
Work with operators to ensure production goals are being met.
Utilize tools such as 3D Modeling software and Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA) to optimize the design of both the fastener and the associated tools required to manufacture.
Works with Sales in designing and specifying optimal fasteners for varied customer applications.
Responsible for the application of the design intent of the assigned product line(s) in order to assure consistent product performance.
Works with Operators in defining optimal processes and equipment for the manufacture of blind fasteners and is responsible for the successful launch of new product.
Provides Engineering support to Operations in the manufacture of blind rivets and blind rivet components.
Works closely with other members of the Engineering team in the design of production tooling for blind fasteners.
Establishes material and processing specifications for new fastener designs.
Establishes testing criteria to evaluate and validate new fastener designs.
Responsible for creating and maintaining design records of assigned product line(s).
Employs formal project management process for product development for both domestic and global projects.
Manage projects to completion within budgetary and delivery schedules.
Understanding of Core Tools - APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA and Control Plans.
Supports facility compliance to IATF 16949.
Provides Engineering support to Quality Assurance including compliant resolution, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation and gauge design.
Assists in the introduction of new product lines in collaboration with sales and marketing departments.
Qualifications:
BS/BA in engineering; combination of education and experience will be considered.
MS office and the ability to interpret blueprints.
