Stratolaunch, LLC Aircraft Maintenance Planner in Mojave, California

Stratolaunch is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Planner to work closely with the ground operations leadership, program management, engineering, crew chiefs, and shop leads to develop and create operations work schedules. The Aircraft Maintenance Planner is responsible for building and maintaining a schedule for the purpose of efficient work execution for the ground operations team. This position will help identify inefficiencies or conflicts that may result in delays of executing work in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for aircraft maintenance work schedule development, monitoring, updating, analysis, tracking and reporting

  • Maintain the priorities and monitors the schedule performance for the operation

  • Plan and schedule maintenance work packages based on the availability of technicians, tooling, materials and equipment to ensure minimum aircraft down time and a balanced workload

  • Prepare and print schedules as required

  • Communicate weekly objectives and task lists to Crew Chiefs, and shop leads for the following week on a Thurs/Friday or as agreed to by Ground Operations Manager

  • Ensure maintenance productivity and quality by evaluating and resolving delays through planning and scheduling

  • Monitor progress and identify deviations to schedules or schedule metrics to ensure plans are executed, milestones met, and timely corrective action taken

  • Maintain detailed maintenance reports indicating the resolved problems and tracking useful metrics

  • Communicate any recommendations to Ground Operations Manager, Crew Chiefs, shop leads for consideration

  • Report to Ground Operations Leadership to provide estimates of manpower resources needed by individual projects, whole programs, and whole company

  • Use schedule planning techniques to predict and recommend solution to operations leadership on how to address resource/asset conflicts at a company level such as over allocated technicians, parts and material shortages etc.

  • Coordinate resources, parts, materials, and equipment for operations

  • Deconflict resources (people & aircraft) from multiple projects to ensure timing between numerous projects is known

  • Execute staffing meetings to inform operations leadership on where individual teams need help

  • Execute and track actions as assigned by operations leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • 3+ years of aircraft maintenance planning, manufacturing planning, production control or supply chain experience

  • 5 years of aircraft manufacturing or maintenance experience (Preferred)

  • Must have experience organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates

  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes

  • Must be customer focused and possess the ability to identify issues, analyze data and develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity

  • Good analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings

  • Good interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with other professionals

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required

  • Strong team building, collaboration, and leadership skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with employees, company leaders, and customers

  • Ability to coordinate multiple concurrent activities among many groups and provide clear plan of dependencies and deadlines

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Self-motivated with a strong track record of forecasting potential challenge areas and taking initiative to address those areas before they become a company concern

  • Creative problem-solving skills. Ability to think “out of the box” and apply non-traditional solutions to challenging issues

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours (including 1st, 2 nd shift, and weekends) when business needs dictate

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited institution with degree in a related discipline and three or more years of progressive professional maintenance planner. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education

  • Current FAA Airframe and Power Plant License (preferred)

  • $81,000-$118,000

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles.
