TenCate Protective Fabrics Quality Assurance Inspector - QUALI001289-00001 in Molena, Georgia

Summary/Objective The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspecting fabric for defects and/or deviations from specification, as well as clean and repair fabric. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. Repairs defects from fabric such as slubs or loose ends using steel pick, scissors or burling iron. Cuts non-repairable defects from fabric, using scissors, and sews fabric ends together, using sewing machine. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work Environment This job operates in a plant environment. The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust and moving mechanical parts . Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand (for extended periods of time), and hear. The employee will be required to reach with hands and arms, push, pull and/or lift, climb or balance, kneel and frequently lift to 50 lbs. Repetitive hand actions, including grasping and fine manipulations, is an essential part of the jobs physical demands. The employee must have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 12:00 a.m. to 8 a.m. Weekend and overtime work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Little to no travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED.
