FEDCO Materials Technician in Monroe, Michigan

Provides direct support in 3 functional areas, including: inventory control, crating and after sales parts fulfillment.  Level 1 technicians must demonstrate the ability to work independently in at least 1 of these 3 functional areas.

 

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * 

 

Inventory Control

  • Pull parts per "New Sales" job pick list.
  • Work with scheduler and other team leads to meet material needs of production.
  • Enter receivables into inventory control, ensuring compliance with FTA policies.
  • Complete inventory cycle counts.
  • Coordinate movement of outsourced materials.
  • Inventory sub-assembly's (bearing installation, bearing assembly, etc.)
  • Organize physical inventory layouts, update system primary bin.

Crating

  • Perform final assembly preparing "New Sales" equipment for shipment, including:
    • attaching feet and motor adapters
    • attaching pumps, booster and motor baseplates
    • fabricating drain lines
    • pump shaft coupling assembly
  • Perform final packaging/crating of outbound materials.
    • fabrication of wood bracing as necessary to secure the equipment during shipment

After Sales Parts Fulfillment

  • Pull parts per "After Sales" job pick list.
  • Work with production scheduler to meet the needs of "After Sales" orders.
  • Label all parts/parts kits for easy identification by the customer.
  • Package "After Sales" parts orders, in a manner that will prevent damage during shipping process.
  • Document the contents and packaging method of each package.

Miscellaneous Duties

  • Load/unload trucks
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must be computer literate and able to grow with evolving technology.
  • Must be willing to work as a team.
  • Good mechanical aptitude is a plus.
  • Must be able to safely and effectively operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • 1-3 year of inventory control and /or assembly experience helpful.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
