Summary

Provides Quality Leadership to the organization in support of the development and execution of improvement initiatives, following effective protocols aligned to our quality management system and global strategy.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assesses quality performance to help establish metrics, targets and improvement strategies aligned to the organization and customer goals

  • Supports the development and execution of quality improvement initiatives aligned to Total Quality at Celestica imperatives and targets.

  • Leads and supports the development and deployment of effective and standardized quality protocols.

  • Engages, supports and provides mentorship for effective execution; skills development of powerful protocols, tools such as 8D Methodology, Compliance Procedures, Change Control Board, FMEA, Manufacturing Quality Standards (MQS) and Flawless Launch Phase Gate Reviews.

  • Engages and foster constructive relationships with site and global leaders and subject matter experts, to enable a collaborative environment for successful execution of improvements and best practice sharing.

  • Provides leadership and support for compliance readiness to various customer, regulatory standards and certifications (e.g. ISO 9001, IATF 16495, TL9001, ISO 14001, ANSI/ESD, etc.)

  • Hands on experience on root cause analysis – ability to facilitate root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis / Ishikawa diagrams, Failure Tree Analysis, etc.

  • Supports the sites in their engagement with the customers to ensure all requirements are communicated, understood and fulfilled as agreed upon.

  • Responsible for the design, deployment & support of CLS’s Quality Management System; related processes such as Customer Satisfaction Surveys, Monthly Operations Reviews, Quality Excursion Reporting

  • Ensure EHS standards and compliance are to the forefront on all

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Experience in Industrial manufacturing environment, SMT manufacturing (surface mount technology), PCB manufacturing (printed circuit board), battery management systems, metal sheet cabinet fabrications will be an added advantage

  • Excellent knowledge of quality management systems and processes, including ISO 9001, IATF and ISO 14001 requirements

  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials, manufacturing and business processes.

  • Broad knowledge of Core Tools – APQP, PPAP, 8D methodology, etc.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to establish department goals and coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet quality metrics.

  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internaland external customers.

  • Ability to communicate with various levels of the organization to drive better understanding of the objectives and goals.

  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve excellent quality outcomes within tight time deadlines.

  • Proven ability to work across multiple sites and geography’s.

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

Physical Demands

  • Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens

  • Sustained visual concentration on numbers, legal documents

  • The job works in generally good conditions with occasional exposure (10% - 33%) to noise, odours, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.

  • Occasional overnight travel is required.

  • Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens

  • Up to 25% international travel as required

  • On site support during critical or crisis management to support customer and operational needs

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
