Job Summary

TheExpert,ProgramandProject Managementis responsible foroverseeing and coordinating all aspects of a project, from initiation to completion.The roleworksclosely with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution

  • Develop the project plan, which includes the timeline, budget, and resource plans

  • Executetheproject plan,monitorproject progress againsttheproject plan and ensure projectremainson scope, on time and on budget while ensuring the completeness and quality of all project deliverables

  • Identifyand manage project dependencies and critical path

  • Prepare monthly project status reports and financial reports, includingYear End Outlook (YEO)

  • Determineand assess need foradditionalstaff or consultants and make theappropriate recruitments,if necessary,during the project cycle

  • Ensurethesuccessful transition of the project deliverables to core support

Risk and Change Management

  • Perform risk management planning,identificationand analysis to define a risk response plan

  • Identifykey project issuesandrisks as well asprovide leadership to resolve

  • Handlechange requestsproactively(i.e.scope, time or budgets change requests)

  • Ensure that the change management plan is developed and executed

Communication and Stakeholder Management

  • Articulate and communicateobjectives, requirements, expectations, concepts, issues, and progress to the team, senior management, and stakeholders

  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis

  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project

  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

  • Conduct project postmortems and createtherecommendationsreporttoidentifysuccessful and unsuccessful project elements

  • Define procurement and solicitation plan, ifrequired, jointly with Supply Management.

  • Participate in solicitation and sourceselection

  • Administer contracts

  • Apply, and ensure compliance with, allappropriate CNInformation and Technology (I&T)standards (e.g., Security, Architecture, Project Delivery Methodology,Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), etc.)

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role is eligible toparticipatein CN’s hybrid working model of 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.Due to the nature of therole, theincumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.The role requires minimal travel (10%) within Canada and the United States.

Requirements

Experience

  • Project Management

  • Between 10 to 15 years of Project Management experience

  • Experience in managing Infrastructure and telecom projects

  • Experience in complex project delivery (e.g.,new technologies, multi-site deployment, large scale programsorprojects)

  • Experience in cross-functional team leadership and personnel management

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management

  • Project Management Institute (PMP) certification
