WSP USA Manager, Global Internal Communications in Montreal, Quebec

The Opportunity:

WSP Global seeks to hire a Manager, Global Internal Communications. Reporting to the Global Director, Communications and Public Relations, the successful candidate will actively contribute to the direction and implementation of global internal communication initiatives at WSP, acting as a strategic business partner to various internal stakeholders.

In a fast-paced organizational context, where creativity and innovation are encouraged, you will be a key player in defining the WSP signature in internal communications by creating strategies and fit-for-purpose communication plans that drive business results and a strong culture of teamwork and inclusivity.

The person in this position will work in hybrid mode with a minimum of three days in our Montréal office.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Develop and support the implementation of global internal communication strategies and plans to engage employees around WSP's vision and business goals.

  • Support organization-wide initiatives and work closely with leaders of various internal functions, providing expert advice on how to present global programs internally.

  • Write engaging internal communications content that reflects the voice of WSP’s employees and brand.

  • Proactively manage the internal communications calendar for global content.

  • Work closely with the Global Digital Experience team on the ongoing development of WSP's employee engagement platform (the intranet).

  • Foster collaboration with the Global External Communications team as well as regional and sector counterparts to ensure alignment and optimal content planning.

  • Supervise and manage a team of professionals and support their professional development.

  • Ensure quality communications that are consistently delivered on time, with clear and accurate messaging.

  • Evaluate the performance and impact of internal communications and current practices and processes and establish mechanisms for their continual improvement.

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in internal communications to ensure that our approach remains relevant and engaging.

  • Support the External Communications team by occasionally conducting external communication campaigns, as needed.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Proven communications professional with 10+ years of experience in Communications, including a minimum of three years spent managing a team.

  • Solid experience in the development of internal communications programs in complex environments.

  • Superior professional French and English language skills, written and spoken.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced role, proven ability to be hands-on and strategic, and perform in a constantly changing environment.

  • University degree in communications or a related discipline.

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and senior management, with a client-oriented, agile and solution-focused approach.

  • Demonstrated copywriting and editing capabilities with a keen ability to synthesize complex business matters.

  • Motivated by teamwork, collaboration, and the achievement of concrete results.

  • High level of professionalism, rigour, and ethics in all activities and interactions.
