IFRS and Special Projects Manager – Defense and Security

CAE, a world-class public company that is a leader in training in the fields of civil aviation and defence and security, is looking for a talented individual to join its Defense & Security (D&S) team as the Manager of IFRS and Special Projects.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform the assessment of non-routine transactions, facing complex, new problems where no specific guidance exists. The Manager, in collaboration with the regions and corporate controller group, will be responsible for ensuring proper documentation and reviews have been performed to support the conclusions for such transactions.

  • Review revenue recognition questionnaires for arrangements entered into by the locations

  • Review the consolidated order intake and consolidated backlog on a quarterly basis.

  • Be the finance lead in the D&S lease governance and accounting process.

  • Work closely with senior management and be a business partner providing guidance and support to the D&S regions, including IFRS training.

  • Perform general and customized analyses to support strategic initiatives.

  • Support special projects and works with teams globally in process improvement initiatives.

  • Discuss and review complex arrangements with the external auditors.

    REQUIREMENTS

  • CPA accounting designation.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS

  • Eight (8) years of experience in an accounting firm or similar position.

  • Ability to thrive in an often fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

  • Results-oriented with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to find solutions and make recommendations by thinking outside of the box.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and actions to people at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.

  • Hyperion Financial Management and/or Hyperion Planning expertise an asset.
