Greenskeeper

Cornerstone Club sits atop the Uncompahgre Plateau 18 miles southwest of Montrose, Colorado. As an award winning 4800-acre development, the development encompasses a private member’s only club which includes a restaurant, an equestrian center, a shooting club, a Greg Norman Designed Golf Course, and more. In addition, Cornerstone Club has an extensive nature preserve, and walking/hiking/biking trails all which pay homage to the region’s rich heritage.

The Greenskeeper will provide outstanding golf course conditions on a daily basis. Responsible for maintaining all areas of the golf course and maintenance facility. Additional duties include:

  • Operating hand-held types of equipment, such as; weed-eaters, self-propelled walk mowers, back pack blowers, push blowers, fly-mowers, core pushers, edger’s, rakes, and shovels

  • Operate Utility Carts

  • Operate Debris Blowers

  • Maintain sprinkler heads and valve boxes

  • Maintain bunkers and operate sand pro

  • Walk mow greens

  • Daily cleanup of equipment and facility

  • Top-Dress Greens

  • Fill Divots

  • Mow Croquet Courts

  • Mow Fairways and Rough

  • Blow Fairways and Rough

  • Operate Aerators

  • Hand-Water Fairways

  • Spray Weed Killer

  • Groom Natives

  • Roll Greens

  • Course Set-Up

  • Hand Water Greens

  • Maintain Tennis and Bocce Courts

  • Opening and maintaining the tennis, bocce, croquet courts daily

  • Grooming bricks and shoveling court materials to distribute even playing surfaces

  • Laying court surface

  • Use cart to pull 6 foot broom; first load broom on the cart (approximately 40 lbs)

  • Placing windscreens and nets on courts

  • Scrubbing the lines

  • Operate Big and Little Dakotas

  • Aerify Greens

  • Verticut Greens

  • Operate Wedenmen Verticutter

  • Slice Fairways

  • Operate Root Pruner

  • Level Drains and Sprinklers

  • Grade Cart paths

  • Operate Chipper

  • Operate Chainsaw

  • Spray Hawk Greens

  • Drive 5320 John Deere Tractor

  • Operate Front Loader and Skid Steer

  • Perform Bunker Walk Through

  • Spray Grass Lines

  • Apply Dust Control

  • Operate Sod Cutter

  • All other duties as required by supervisor

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal skills; team oriented.

  • Previous experience on golf course is required

  • Ability to comprehend instructions given in English or Spanish

  • General knowledge of golf game and the course preferred.

  • Ability to work 7 days a week, weekends and holidays.

  • Perform job responsibilities and operate equipment according to the company safety and training programs

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most tasks are performed outdoors in variable weather conditions, including hot, cold, windy and wet weather. Temperature can be extreme but is usually moderate. Frequently works near moving/mechanical parts. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands; bend and stoop; remain at post standing for extended periods of time; required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
