Shingle & Gibb’s Regional Sales Manager is responsible for execution of our company’s vision, strategy, and technical articulation of our automation products to our customers.

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for implementing the strategic sales & marketing plan with assigned District Managers and is accountable to generate the revenue needed to achieve regional plans and goals through leading, coaching and empowering the District Managers by assigning sales territories, setting goals, providing mentorship, instituting a sales and product training program that includes regular follow-up activities, building individual territory sales plans within their assigned territories.

The Regional Sales Manager will also identify and provide reliable automation solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Regional Sales Manager must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships between engineers and marketing/sales throughout the sales cycle.

This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of results and personnel within the assigned sales region and must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborates with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute a clear sales & marketing plan to achieve annual revenue goals in accordance with our overall strategic plan as well as meet key Supplier Objectives.

  • Maintain and demonstrate expertise with the latest technologies and solutions related to industrial automation

  • Forecasts, updates and tracks revenue goals for the assigned region.

  • Aid and direct District Managers in developing and executing individual territory sales plans to achieve goals for planned growth.

  • Track and lead the regional Team via critical KPIs and metrics including bookings, sales, and CRM (pipeline, sales calls, new projects, new customers, goals, tasks)

  • Utilize the company sales and marketing resources to identify and develop new customers.

  • Identify and relay the competitive landscape, as well as potential new Suppliers, Customers and markets.

  • Establishes targets for District Managers, motivates the Regional Team to reach targets and creates a culture of success and goal achievement.

  • Ensures effective long-term problem resolution of customer issues.

  • Develops and maintains solid relationships with suppliers on behalf of the company.

  • Attends relevant meetings held by suppliers to foster relationships and learn about new product offerings and programs.

  • Confirms that all potential, current client activity and opportunities are up to date in the company’s CRM and uses the tool to measure pipeline, activity and adherence to company policy and standards.

  • Attends and actively contributes to weekly Sales L10 Meetings.

  • Performance Management : Manage the performance of the Regional sales team (District Managers) and have routes to adjust, address, and take action for non-performers as well as reward system for outstanding performers. Lead through example and be seen as a leader.

  • Daily Management: Own the process that has a pulse on the selling activity of the business, has the systematic review process that trickles down through the District Managers. Must interview, recruit and train, as necessary.

  • Raise the Bar: Bring talent into the organization. Effectively coach, develop, and set expectations for the District Managers so they trickle down clear focus and direction. Mentor, lead, guide, direct and evaluate the performance of the District Managers.

  • Motivate: Encourage, mentor and coach the Regional team to thrive in their own environment through a feeling of ownership of their territories/targets, feeling of responsibility for their actions and feeling of success/deficiency of their contributions to the overall business.

  • Communicates, promotes and showcases the Shingle & Gibb Core Values, policies and procedures throughout the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, sales and marketing or related field is required. Or equivalent industry experience.

  • 7 years of Industrial Automation Sales Experience is required; 10 years is preferred.

  • Experience using CRM tools such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce is required.

  • Strategic thinking and planning skills.

  • Excellent Leadership Skills: Motivates employees while working with them to set and meet sales goals.

  • Resolves Conflicts.

  • Analytical Skills: Analyzing sales numbers to find weaknesses in the system, cost saving opportunities and redundancies. Good analytic skills will help establish proper goals and determine pricing.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Results driven.

  • Customer/ Client focus.

  • Problem Solving/ Analysis.

  • Technology fluent in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Highly proficient with CRM Systems. Is able to determine what changes/modifications are needed to support the Company’s Sales Processes and effectively communicate the needs to technical resources.

  • Financial Management.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed both in an office environment and in the field. This will be a remote position, possibly requiring presence at a local office. While in the field, the Regional Sales Manager is required to visit clients and the sales team and participate in training events and trade shows. Driving is required and the Regional Sales Manager may be exposed to inclement weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions:

  • Ability to listen effectively.

  • Ability to sit and drive a vehicle for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time with frequent walking in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet and may have odors related to manufacturing.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently.

  • Requires use of safety equipment that may include, but not limited to hard hat, vest, safety glasses, non-slip and/ or steel-toed shoes, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by specific client visits.

Travel:

The Regional Sales Manager will be required to travel within the assigned territory, which currently includes which currently includes the Eastern half of Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and the Hudson River Valley in New York. Expect as much as 30% overnight travel.

Compensation Details:

The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $150,000 annually. This position is also bonus eligible based on specific and relevant business metrics. You will also receive three weeks of vacation in your first 12 months of employment as well as sick days and holidays. Benefits include medical insurance and prescription drug, dental insurance, vision plan, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, disability benefits, and a 401(k) savings plan.
