Valley National Bank DEI Program Specialist in Morristown, New Jersey

The DEI Program Specialist will help build, launch, and drive cultural initiatives and programs that promote DEI across the Valley platform. In addition to developing innovative associate programs, the person in this role will need to build trust & partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support the development, implementation, and execution of the Valley's DEI initiatives.
  • Implement initiatives and programs designed to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of the organization, including recruitment, hiring, training, engagement, and retention.
  • Organize and facilitate DEI initiatives and programs, which includes supporting our Associate Resource Group Program, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and associate events.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to advance Valley's Community Lending, Women in Business and to build and support Valley's Supplier Diversity initiatives.
  • Update and curate top-notch content for the Valley's DEI Intranet Portal.
  • Research, write and develop DEI articles, resources, tools, and podcasts with the goal of providing recommendations for distributing this content to our workforce.
  • Partner with the Corporate Communications and Marketing teams to facilitate internal and external communications, to create content, and to market DEI initiatives and program.
  • Establish partnerships with external organizations, community groups, and educational institutions to support DEI initiatives and promote diversity and inclusion beyond the workplace.

Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts, theories, and best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge, interest, and commitment to creating diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces, human resources, marketing, and communications.
  • Previous experience with research and documentation and strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and proactively follow assignments through to completion.
  • High degree of discretion and ability to properly handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other related field with a strong interest, coursework, and/or work experience in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Human Resources, Talent Management, Learning/Organizational Development or Program Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion.
Preferred Experience:
  • Certification in DEI-related disciplines (e.g., SHRM Diversity and Inclusion Certification)

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
$55,100.00
$86,300.00
