Confidential Employer Gearbox Mechanic in Morton, Pennsylvania
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of gearboxes for the commuter rail vehicle industry.
- Disassemble gearboxes to identify the components and create a Bill of Materials.
- Perform the reassembly of gearboxes once the material arrives, ensuring that all irregularities and concerns are communicated to the Gearbox Shop Supervisor.
- Identifying defective parts that need to be removed and doing so on an as needed basis.
- Maintains continuity among the Gearbox Shop by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical role, preferably, in a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical experience within the automotive industry is a big plus.
- Able to troubleshoot issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyers.
- Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps is highly preferred.
- Microsoft Excel experience may come in handy but is not a requirement.
