Description

Rowan College at Burlington County, a comprehensive college in New Jersey's largest county, seeks qualified applicants to fill the Electrical Engineering Technology Instructor position in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics for the Spring 2025 semester.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

This is a tenure track instructor faculty position focusing on teaching lecture and lab courses in Electrical Engineering Technology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the technical aspects of electrical engineering technology and have skills in several of the following areas: Instrumentation and measurement, control system and PLC, CAD, signal processing, dynamics, finite element analysis, real-time control, embedded computing, circuits, and Solidworks design system software.

In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability and enthusiasm to lead student team projects. This includes guiding students in developing and implementing projects that demonstrate their understanding of course material, as well as providing mentorship and support throughout the project development process. The candidate should be able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to students with diverse backgrounds, engage in continuous learning, and participate in departmental and institutional service activities.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:

A Masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Experience Required:

  • At least one year of teaching experience at the college or high school level.

  • Ability to assimilate industry scenarios and role-playing into applied engineering technology instruction.

Experience Preferred:

  • Engineering curriculum design and development

  • Electronic/Electrical laboratories courses teaching

  • Assessment and student learning outcomes design and analysis—at least one year of

industrial experience involving the applications of Engineering.

  • Knowledge of ABET accreditation

Additional Information

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
