Westchester Community Health Center Registrar in Mount Vernon, New York
Performs clerical work in connection with registration of patients to Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center, Yonkers Community Health Center, and Greenburgh Health Center, does related work as required. Under the supervision of the Registration Supervisor, processes individuals seeking health care. This includes interviewing prospective patients, preparing forms and records, and referring patients to appropriate units. Supervision is not a regular responsibility of the class.
Essential Duties
Conducts client registration interviews, obtaining information to determine payment status eligibility Prepares forms and records Refers patients to the appropriate unit Answers inquiries concerning registration Maintains records and assists in the preparation of reports Submits monthly reports to the Director Cross covers for Reception and Business Office when needed Insurance verification of patient insurance Qualifications
Good knowledge of Health Center organization and procedures, ability to prepare and maintain records; ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public; tact; neat personal appearance; Bilingual a plus
Graduation from a standard High School and one year of medical registrar experience, or a satisfactory equivalent combination of training and experience.
