Google Technical Program Manager II, Central Test Engineering in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in program management.

  • Experience working with component manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers/original design manufacturers through device production cycles in product, process, or engineering.

  • Experience with building and launching consumer electronics products.

  • Experience in the consumer electronics industry.

  • Experience with test engineering.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Experience with hardware testing, system bring up, and design validation.

  • Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and failure analysis investigation.

  • Experience working with OEM partners.

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) on the Central Test Engineering team, you will be responsible for one of the key consumer satisfaction metrics, functional performance of the device. You are a key member of the cross-functional team that will launch the product. You will manage factory test stations from concept to mass production. You will own the program's overall test readiness, utilizes strong program management skills, and technical judgment when working with our internal Engineering and Operations teams as well as with external vendors. You will identify processes and solutions to improve the quality and velocity of work.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Serve as conduit between the Test Engineering team and Program Manager counterparts (Engineering and Operations). Responsible for factory software deployment, coordination strategy, and test station qualification.

  • Standardize and optimize the test process across the entire production line, including sub-assembly, IPQC, (inline and offline) OQC, OBA, and Reliability.

  • Ensure operational test readiness for all phases of the product development lifecycle.

  • Work with Contract Manufacturer (CM) on test related SOP, test fixtures, cycle time, and line balance. Manage schedules and plan for all test engineering deliverables (data collection features/solutions, test framework software drops, etc.).

  • Collaborate with suppliers and Engineering teams in developing test blueprint including assessment of process flow, equipment/fixture designs, process controls, factory test and data infrastructure, schedules and validation plans prior to Engineering build. Provide onsite support during verification testing and ramp builds.
