Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Senior Business Manager , you will partner with executive leadership to manage the development and execution of strategic planning and initiatives for the division.

The Sr. Business Manager will apply business expertise, systems thinking, analytical and program/project management skills, to anticipate and plan for long-term needs and trends across the organization. This role engages and consults with all levels of the division and Premera, to develop and deliver new business strategies, projects, and programs, providing regular updates to senior leaders on progress. In addition, the Senior Business Manager will guide and mentor others to ensure business efficiency and effectiveness and is recognized across the company as the division’s lead in driving functional and/or technical strategy.

What you will do :

  • Consult and partner with executive management to identify key business issues, outline strategic alternatives, and recommend effective solutions.

  • Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge across all lines of Premera’s business and provide subject matter expertise in division programs and business processes across the company.

  • Collect financial and tracking data for a portfolio of work. Create reports detailing the business case value and investment expense for working sessions with the Finance Director.

  • Support creation of materials, agenda for weekly Steering Committee meetings:

  • Prepare materials and facilitate meetings with leaders on overall program progress and initial assessment details for initiative pre-steering committee approvals.

  • Partner closely with the Program Management Director on resource forecasting and key milestones for initiative post-steering committee approval.

  • Manage central team responsibilities through weekly touch points.

  • Create agenda and supporting documents for stand-up meetings with sponsors (daily, weekly, and bi-weekly).

  • Prepare daily status and weekly wrap up communications as well look-ahead emails with action items and proposed meeting agendas.

  • Support creation of materials for Board and QBR

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration or related field of study or four years' work experience.

  • Eight years of experience in developing, implementing, training, and supporting new or existing strategic programs and processes, including eight years of experience in program, project, and change management or a combination of the three.

  • Experience working at a health insurer plan, preferably Premera Blue Cross

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

National Salary Range:

$102,600.00 - $174,400.00

National Plus Salary Range:

$117,000.00 - $198,900.00

*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska .
