Microsoft Corporation Industry Advisor - Shipping and Logistics in Multiple Locations, United Kingdom

A Logistics Industry Advisor is a subject matter expert who has experience working with or in Transport and Logistics Companies around key functions in the following; first, mid and last mile, dynamic pricing, Transportation Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, reverse logistics, control towers, route optimization and other business functions dealing with major transportation companies, freight logistics and logistics service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Bring industry depth to target Transport and logistics accounts

  • Determine root cause of customer problems, remove blockers, and establish recovery action plan.

  • Generate demand through industry presentations and events, and proactively seek additional training, including information that adds to the understanding of customers' businesses, and share it with team members.

  • Serve as industry communicator to translate industry knowledge for the account management team, and collaborate with partners to identify future requirements and connect the partner ecosystems in efforts to scale business results.

  • Extend relationships with peers and senior team members across solution areas, and proactively build knowledge of Microsoft and industry solutions and capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Proven years of experience in the Transport and Logistics industry, with a deep understanding of the business processes, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Act as a subject matter expert, proactively sharing strong knowledge of the industry to help the team deliver the best solutions to customers.

  • A proven track record of delivering successful outcomes for customers, partners, and stakeholders in the Transport and Logistics industry.

  • A strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and solutions to various audiences.

  • A passion for learning and innovation, with a growth mindset and a willingness to adapt to changing customer needs and market trends.

  • A high level of professionalism, integrity, and collaboration, with a customer-centric and partner-oriented approach.

  • Generate demand through industry events, proactively seek additional training, including information that adds to the understanding of customers' businesses, and share it with team members. You lead efforts to train account management team, collaborate with partner teams to carry out competitive recruiting, and provide insight and feedback from worldwide counterparts and industry teams to help with best practices.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education) or related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration) AND PRoven years of experience working in a relevant industry domain

  • OR Proven years of experience working in a relevant industry domain.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education)

  • OR related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration) AND proven years of experience working in a relevant industry domain

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education)

  • OR related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business Administration) AND 10+ years proven experience working in a relevant industry domain

  • OR Proven years proven experience working in a relevant industry domain.

  • Proven years of experience in solution or services sales experience in a relevant industry domain (e.g., Government, Education) OR Proven years proven experience in deep industry role.
