Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineer - Content AI in Multiple Locations, United States

Microsoft Syntex (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/syntex/syntex-overview) uses next-generation content services to accelerate our customers’ digital transformation to the cloud. Building on top of SharePoint, Microsoft Search, Azure Cognitive Services and more, we apply machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and signals intelligence services from across the company and industry to tackle the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) market, providing document understanding, entity extraction and workflow automation services.

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join us in managing an ever-increasing number of processes and systems often while on the go and multitasking. 

As part of the team, you’ll build partnerships with teams across Microsoft, functioning as scenario and customer experts that can integrate leading AI and ML tech to help you solve this real problem for Microsoft’s customers.

Responsibilities

We are looking for smart, agile, and intellectually curious engineers who love creating and building things that delight and protect our customers. You will be working with a team of amazing engineers, PMs, and designers, and work closely with other teams across Microsoft to deliver large scale, distributed architectures, and features to meet Syntex core infrastructure needs. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience with cloud-scale services and server/service management features.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to learn new systems quickly and adapt new methodologies to our service.

  • Experience in delivering and interacting with REST API’s and web services across multiple systems.  

  • Experience collaborating with partner teams to meet the engineering goals in a unified manner. 

  • Solid coding, debugging, algorithm design and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with building cloud-scale infrastructure components. 

  • Awareness, passion, and experience related to cloud scale distributed design and patterns.

  • Familiar with secure software design concepts. 

  • Proven track record of delivering projects that include multiple components. 

  • Ability and eagerness to work across and partner with multiple engineering teams to achieve business goals.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
