We are looking for a Product Manager II to transform Microsoft’s big data platform. The successful candidate will either be well-versed in general software design and development or have a deep domain knowledge of the storage space. To succeed, you should be self-driven and proactive with a demonstrated history of solving customer problems and having persistence in the face of challenges. An entrepreneurial sense of ownership of the Azure Storage business and the ability to operate autonomously are essential. You will confidently present to and advise customers and partners at all levels of the organization. Success in this role is demonstrated by successfully onboarding the largest Microsoft analytics workloads onto Azure Storage through data migrations from on-premises sources or other clouds. Responsibilities

  • Drive business impact across the Storage organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas. You’ll also identify long-term investment opportunities and engage partners to garner support for those feature areas

  • Help define a feature set and facilitate mid-level usability reviews with customers. You’ll own the roadmap for multiple feature areas and will collaborate with a partner team to build golden configurations and drive scenario walkthroughs

  • Scale Product Marketing teams by helping build marketing, roll-out, and customer support plans. You’ll also promote the feature areas you worked on and present at large events

  • Partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs to improve product development in targeted areas. You’ll also identify features to deprecate, manage customer communities, and build trust with targeted customers

  • Be a trusted advisor and Subject Matter Expert to our customers for all questions related to Azure Storage, meeting with customers at an early stage to identify their needs, present suitable designs, solutions, and help them to make decisions around cloud storage

  • Capture common customer scenarios and produce high-quality collateral that can be published and shared broadly. You will share strategy, customer insights, technical collateral, and presentations with the ability to adapt for various levels of stakeholders including executive levels

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience in any of the following technical areas: software design and development, storage platform, or data migrations.

  • 2+ years of experience in any combination of the following product management areas: roadmaps, feature set development, technology collateral, or product needs analysis.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR eqivalent experience.

  • Technical background related to data migration and/or data movement

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated cross-group collaboration skills

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
