Microsoft Corporation Sales Compensation Business Program Manager in Multiple Locations, United States

The Worldwide Incentive Compensation (WWIC) team designs and implements incentive-based compensation plans for our global seller community, sales leadership, and consultants. Our organization leads the work that drives the company strategy through role aligned plans, targets/quotas and additional performance-based incentives which motivate sellers to deliver results. As a key part of the WWIC team, the Strategic Operations Planning team aligns to these values and objectives through end-to-end ownership of landing the Field Leader engagement model, aligning activities to a standard Rhythm of Business (ROB), ensuring our help desk resources are set up for success, and managing upstream changes that may impact operations or the field sellers. We develop global partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration on delivery and execution through agreed hand-offs and support. We also leverage these partnerships to drive continuous process improvements, share global best practice, and proactively remove potential barriers to world class execution and positive seller experience.

As a successful Sales Compensation Business Program Manager, you are vital to global execution excellence, and drive significant impact across the WWIC organization. You are responsible for effectively partnering with key global stakeholders across the business on end to end operations programs, and function as global lead on designated projects and initiatives. You effectively manage key objectives and related rhythm of business, enabling leadership support through global stakeholder meeting success and project management that drives success of operations and strategic initiatives.

You will also liaise with our Regional Execution Manager and managed service team leads to orchestrate workflows, streamline processes, develop operational efficiencies, and provide executive level program updates. You work closely with senior management and stakeholders across a variety of functions, while driving projects to enable delivery on strategy, core priorities, and business compliance expectations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the all-up program management strategy and activities for select initiatives that drive the business forward.

  • Work end to end with first mile and last mile excellence teams to ensure optimal development, operational execution, support, and iteration of incentive programs.

  • Follow Microsoft and industry methodology to deliver the following program management activities: accurately assess current and future processes; evaluate and prioritize participant needs; drive landing/adoption activities including acceptance testing, compliance, and content development; and post-implementation follow-up and program performance monitoring.

  • Document and track progress against launch milestones, provide data-driven insights based on standard reporting to help address blockers and risks, and create a path to green or mitigation plans.

  • Assist with the development of creative and innovative solutions to reduce cycle times, drive efficiency, and improve outcomes.

  • Look for themes and trends in seller feedback regarding experiences and potential improvements.

  • Implement continuous operational improvements and in-flight changes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field AND 5+ years experience in compensation, business management and operations, finance and analytics, human resources and people analytics, marketing, or sales strategy

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of Program Management, Project Management, Business Process Management, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration Degree or Master's Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science Engineering, or related field

  • Knowledge of compensation/incentive principles and/or sales motion/culture.

  • Effective program or project management skills.

  • Ability to develop and implement creative solutions and influence others in their adoption.

  • Notable problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to lead globally distributed teams, while also working independently to research and propose innovative solutions to impressive problems

Sales Compensation IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
