Citigroup FP&A Analyst 2 - C10 - MUMBAI in Mumbai, India

The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi’s financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to utilize specialty knowledge to create reports/analyses that gauge Citi’s alignment with forecasted performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the estimation of risk capital and incorporate results into management reports and decision processes

  • Assist with the analysis of Citi’s/Citi’s competitors’ financial performance

  • Aid in the annual planning and periodic forecasting processes and review results against plans monthly; participate in annual budget and monthly estimate process

  • Use metrics to assist in the evaluation of proposed business decisions

  • Analyze key management review presentations for individual Regions and Products

  • Participate in time critical activities for client facing Financial Planning and Analysis Teams

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • +2 years of experience in accounting and/or finance

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial, analytical, and reporting tools

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Excel and PowerPoints skills preferred

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Job Purpose:

An excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a career within Citigroup and more specifically within the finance division. The purpose of the role will be to support the Wealth Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team with the performance of key activities (as described below).

The Mumbai FP&A team is an integral part of the larger Global FP&A team with 600 employees. The Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Analyst is a role responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi’s financial results in coordination with the broader finance team. The role is within the Wealth FP&A team, and requires in-depth understanding of forward-looking processes (planning, outlook, QMMF, etc.). The overall objective is to contribute to directional strategy as well as utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to provide advice/counsel on the evaluation of financial reports of Citi’s current and projected performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute analysis of annual 3-year strategic/operating plans, CCAR PPNR forecasts, QMMF, and quarterly outlooks in partnership with finance and business organizations.

  • Analyse key products within Wealth, namely deposits, lending, cards, mortgages, investments, trust and custody.

  • Review key business financials – Citi Private Bank, Wealth at Work and CitiGold.

  • Create financial reports and meet with finance team to clearly summarize financial trends and provide insight to senior management.

  • Develop and deliver financial analysis supporting various business initiatives.

  • Build excellent relationship across finance, controllers, and business organizations.

  • Responsible to collect & review inputs received from various teams and challenge them if necessary/required.

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Acts as systems and processes subject matter expert (SME) to senior finance stakeholders and other team members.

  • Establish strong relationships and leverage them to seamlessly overcome challenges and meet business needs across finance and business organizations.

  • Prepare presentations and analysis for the team supporting the CFO/LFOs

  • Drive FP&A transformation efforts as part of continuous process improvements

  • Drive finance initiatives effectively

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:

  • +2 years of experience in accounting and/or finance, experience in financial services preferred.

  • Professional degree equivalent to CA/MBA/BMS would be preferable.

  • Understanding of FP&A processes and management reporting, experience in financial services preferred.

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office (excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills)

Candidate should be willing to work afternoon shifts, 1 pm to 10 pm.
