Citigroup SVP - Credit Portfolio Senior Officer in Mumbai, India

We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Credit Portfolio Sr. Officer. The Independent Risk Approver will be part of approver team and will be reporting into reporting into Senior Approver Head who in turn reports into CCB India Risk Head. The officer will be responsible for leading activities including credit review, credit approvals and monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration. The portfolio allocated to the approver can be based on geography or industry. The portfolio will comprise relatively large exposures and under Mid Corporates (MC) segment.

In this role, you are expected to:

• • Evaluate and approve credit proposals within delegated credit authority, ensuring compliance with risk policies and standards as well as regulatory requirements.

• • Prioritize and timely review of credit requests, providing sound credit judgement in approving profitable and prudent credit exposures.

• • Maintain close risk oversight of the borrowers to minimize credit costs and assure the risk profile remains within the Bank’s credit appetite. Provide immediate attention and guidance to deteriorating credits.

• • Develop a holistic understanding of Wholesale Credit Risk Policies, Standards and Procedures, including CCB Country Appendix and Local Operating Procedures

• • Keep abreast of regulatory developments, business trends and market sentiments.

• • Participate in portfolio reviews and stress tests, and to implement action plan(s) where appropriate.

• • Implement relevant credit policies and procedures and to provide guidance and expertise as required.

• • Work with stake holders and assist them in regulatory reviews, internal and external audit exercises.

• • Work with stake holders and assist in maintenance of data quality, collateral monitoring and other credit processes.

• • Establish cross-functional partnerships and networks to contribute to and execute cross-functional and business initiatives.

• • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• • You should preferably be a degree holder with minimum 12 + years of credit experience with wholesale lending.

• • You should also possess strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to details

• • Demonstrated ability to take intelligent risk and exercising independent and sound judgment

• • Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently and a strong team player.

• • Sound understanding of cash, trade and derivative products. Good understanding of counterparty risk, market risk and its impact on credit decision.

• • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential

• • Stays current with the dynamic demands of the environment and clients

• • Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, negotiation, strategic and analytic skills

• • Proven ability to obtain support and buy-in across wide range of internal and external audiences.

Education:

• MBA/ Chartered Accountant or equivalent
