As Head of Global Commodity Management (f/m/d) IT , you are committed to drive value for Siemens in the global purchasing fields IT Infrastructure Services, (Managed) Communication Services and Hardware and also in Software, Services and Application Management, by using all levers of strategic procurement opportunities such as efficiency, availability, quality, innovation and sustainability.

What part will you play?

  • You are responsible for the achievement of targets related to a global purchasing volume by defining and implementing the global IT sourcing strategy and processes, ensuring alignment with Siemens IT departments, Business Departments, Regions and within the SCM/Procurement network.

  • For this, you lead, mentor, and develop an international team of global commodity managers around the globe, encouraging a culture of dedication, continuous improvement, and professional growth

  • Further, you manage relationships with key global suppliers, negotiate global contracts, drive innovation together with Siemens’ IT, support Sustainability measures, and ensure that the best terms and conditions are secured to benefit Siemens

  • You will drive the implementation of AI in procurement, as well as cost-saving initiatives and optimize procurement processes

  • You identify potential risks in the supply chain, develop mitigation strategies (e.g decoupling) to optimize resilience, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies

  • You work closely with internal stakeholders, including IT departments, business units and Regions to understand their needs and ensure the procurement strategy is delivering Value

  • You work in close alignment with your peers on interdisciplinary projects, e.g. IT Infrastructure, Software and/or Application Management elements and Services.

  • You keep abreast of market trends and innovations in IT as well as procurement, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team

  • You develop and monitor important metrics, prepare regular reports on procurement performance, and use data to drive decision-making and strategic planning

What you need to make real what matters.

  • 10+ years significant experience in Supply Chain Management/Procurement with a focus on IT Infrastructure, Software and/or Application Management elements and Services.

  • Experience in applying AI in procurement and concrete successful projects, as well as hands-on experience in negotiating “AI” with AI vendors

  • Proven track record of successful global leadership, including leading cross-functional and international teams

  • Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure, Hardware, Software, Application markets, supplier landscapes, and new technologies

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making and process improvement

  • Experience in developing and implementing global sourcing strategies and driving large-scale transformation projects

  • Ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in a rapidly changing market environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, IT, or a related field

  • Business / negotiation fluency in English, German and other languages is a plus

  • Frequent business travels are required
