Job Summary:

The Emergency Services (ES) Transport Paramedic will operate on the HCA Grand Strand Health EMS Transport Services’ Team. The primary duty of the ES Transport Paramedic will be the safe and effective treatment and transport of HCA Grand Strand Health patients on the HCA Grand Strand Health EMS Transport Services’ ambulance. The ES Transport Paramedic will respond to EMS Call-Center requests, prioritize patient care, coordinate with other healthcare providers, and facilitate transport appropriately.

As needed, the ES Transport Paramedic will function within the HCA owned facilities. While working in the Emergency Department, the ES Paramedic will collect and convey information to their team members and the attending Physician regarding the health status of patients. The ES Paramedic will perform all duties identified in their job description, approved Medical Protocols, and departmental policy.

What you will do in this role:

  • Operate emergency medical vehicle and responds to calls for aid in emergent situations.

  • Evaluate patient condition to establish the right course of treatment.

  • Provide a variety of emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.

  • Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.

  • Manage non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary.

  • Lift and transport patients, ensuring patients remain stable during transport.

  • Communicate patient data and condition to professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility.

What qualifications you will need:

  • SC Paramedic license is Required

  • DRIVING RECORD: This position requires driving an HCA owned vehicle. The candidate must provide a seven-year driving history from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and have no more than six points on their record, with no indication of unsafe driving habits.

  • BLS-American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider issued card is Required

  • ACLS-American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS provider card is Required

  • PALS-American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS provider card is Required

  • EVOC-Emergency Vehicle Operations Course completion certificate, or equivalent within 90 days of post-hire is Required
