Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of their existing petrochemical facilities in India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices. Both scopes are substantial with multi-million job-hours estimated across both scopes .

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects. You will establish stakeholder relationships, conduct schedule analysis and integrate activities, identify restraints, quantify risks, monitor cost and performance, recommend alternatives, and deliver training sessions and workshops. Your activities will synthesize project components into seamless execution.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects

  • Coordinates with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs

  • Conducts project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities

  • Collects and analyzes alternatives for schedule improvement

  • Assists, when requested, in the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans

  • Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports

  • Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures

  • Leads risk workshops, interviews and information gathering as it relates to risk identification, review, and update

  • Carries out risk quantification activities as required

  • Delivers training sessions and facilitates workshops

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.

  • Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Skilled in oral and written communication.

  • Advanced level of knowledge of construction work processes as performed by Bechtel.

  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present schedule products independently with minimal supervision. This includes using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design, construction, and procurement practices.

  • Experience on major lump sum projects with direct hire construction strategy is preferred. Experience on LNG projects is preferred. Proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently.
