Job Summary:

The Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in the day-to-day IT operations at Chervon North America. This position involves working closely with the IT team to manage and maintain the network, server infrastructure, storage and DR systems. The Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of these systems and providing technical support across all offices. This role requires a strong understanding of network, operating systems, security, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to address technical issues and implement solutions effectively.

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment.

  • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades for network optimization.

  • Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources.

  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies as well as defining and monitoring access.

  • Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy.

  • Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.

  • Configure routing and switching equipment, and wireless access point.

  • Manage existing VMware and Microsoft Windows server and Exchange-Hybrid environment, including 2016-2022 Active Directory Services (On premise and Azure AD), 2016-2022 Microsoft Windows Servers, including responsibility for supporting and optimizing the patch strategies.

  • Manage and support the Enterprise Data Center Backup operations and disaster recovery planning and testing.

  • Audit, Monitor and optimize systems to achieve and maintain maximum performance.

  • Develop and provide recommendations to aid in hardware and system software planning and budgeting.

  • Support and implement cloud-based solutions, including but not limited to, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, cloud backup and recovery services and collaboration tools.

  • Lead corporation Desktop support.

  • Deploy and support various audio/visual systems.

  • Development of other team members through sharing of knowledge and experience.

  • 24x7 operational on-call support, troubleshooting, incident notification and resolution, problem management, post-mortem analysis, and root cause identification.

  • Management of digital and physical assets in accordance with IT and Finance guidelines

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Technical Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).

  • Proficiency in firewall/switch management and Windows/Linux OS.

  • Expertise in VMware, virtualization, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and backup technologies.

  • Familiarity with SANs, network protocols, and system monitoring.

  • Experience in disaster recovery planning.

    Education and Experience:

  • Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in system administration environments.

  • Advanced working knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.

  • Advanced working knowledge of firewall and switch configuration and management.

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems.

  • Strong working knowledge of VMware and associated virtualization technologies.

  • Strong working knowledge of Backup/Retrieval technologies.

  • Advanced working knowledge of network protocols, principles, and concepts including the ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues.

  • Advanced working knowledge of server operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Linux.

  • Advanced working knowledge of virtualization systems, including VMware vCenter and ESXi server.

  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Azure and AWS Cloud.

  • Strong working knowledge of Storage Area Networks.

  • Experience in disaster recovery plan development and rollout is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of system monitoring.

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

    Requires minimal domestic or international travel.
