Job Summary

Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.

  • Performs Radiology (x-ray/fluoroscopy) exams/procedures on patients.

  • Maintains production and quality of radiograph by following established standards and procedures.

  • Implement clinical protocols and policies.

  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.

  • Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, and families, as well as staff and physicians.

  • Instructs patients for preparation for tests.

  • Reviews requisition for pertinent information special requests and correct procedure as ordered and reviews physician order for procedure/test.

  • Assists front reception with patient information as needed.

  • Performs completion of documentation on patients and completes all required processes to assure no late charges.

  • Maintains medical supplies in all rooms and required stock items and prepares and cleans rooms. Maintains and prepares all equipment/instruments in exam rooms.

  • Participates in coverage for the 24 hour/7day Radiology operation, including holidays, nights, weekends, and call.

  • Other duties as consistent with this role.

    Job Requirements: (education and experience/preferred and required)

    Job Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements, and regulations.

  • Knowledge of radiologic safety, protection, cleanliness and infection control policies and regulations.

  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment uses and maintenance.

  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record.

  • Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality.

  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations.

  • Customer Service Oriented. Friendly, cheerful, and helpful to patients and others. Ability to meet patients and others needs while following office policies and procedures.

  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.

  • Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.

  • Display a positive attitude and is a positive agent for change.

  • Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.

    Education and Experience

  • Current NH ARRT license required

  • Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy licensure required

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required

  • Completion of formal Radiologic Technologist training from an AMA approved school strongly preferred.

  • 24-month clinical internship strongly preferred.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands

    Must p ossess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
