Job Summary
It is a priority at Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee that the organization focus on a variety of girl-facing programs, new girl and troop leader recruitment, as well as girl and leader retention. The Chief Experience Officer is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership that results in quality, relevant recruitment of Girl Scouts, member engagement and program opportunities to girl members that support of the organization’s objectives within all 39 counties supported by the Council.
To be successful in this role, the Chief Experience Officer must provide leadership in the development of innovative strategies and effective service for directing membership development in all areas of the council including but not limited to underserved and underrepresented areas of the council, and delivery of dynamic council programs. This position works in partnership with other operational and organizational functions to support the organizational mission, goals, and strategic priorities. This position should demonstrate effective relationship building and strategic thinking skills that invite engagement and participation.
Job Qualifications
Education/Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in management, sales and marketing, or other related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a staff and a budget.
• Computer and Microsoft Office software proficiency required.
• Excellent human relations, verbal and written communication skills, motivational and conflict resolution skills. Ability to encourage consensus and teamwork.
• Innovation and creativity in developing programs to meet membership needs and reach underserved populations.
• Strong skills in analyzing data, and in organizing and planning multi-faceted projects from conceptualization to evaluation.
• Current valid drivers’ license, proof of vehicle insurance, and transportation availability.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
• Experience in volunteer management or personal volunteer experience preferred.
• Possess a professional attitude and strong work ethic.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Possess a professional attitude and strong work ethic with exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule including some evening and weekend work.
• Willing to travel throughout the GSMT 39-county jurisdiction.
• Strong belief in the mission of Girl Scouting and the ability to convey its importance to the public.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check including a motor vehicle report.
• Organized, independent thinker and self-starter.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
